Elfyau's 9.0.2 Fire Mage Macro. Elfyau February 11, 2021, 1:40am #1. I think the main issue isn’t the macro it’s fire itself in nature. Fire is probably the only spec where you actively cast things over one another and it’s encouraged to clip casts.

Make sure you enter Combustion with 3 Fire Blast and Phoenix Flames charges. When your target is below 30% health, you cast Scorch due to the talent Searing Touch to generate Heating Up procs. On 2 or more targets, if no priority damage is required, you hard cast Flamestrike with Flame Patch.

It's a mistake not to teach fire mages that they should replace Fireball uses for Scorch during Combustion frames.

When it describes Flamestrike under 'Baseline Offensive Abilities', it says Flamestrike slows the target's movement speed by 50%. However, it only slows their movement speed by 20%.

this is all very well giving a rotation im 470 lvl had stacked 43% crit chance at one point and once combustion finishes i am stuck spamming fireball sometimes up to SIX with NO crits have submitted bug reports but NOTHING even now as soon as combustion finishes even on raid bosses im stuck spamming fireball sometimes with all 3 fireblasts on cd with rune of power down i get NO fireball crits anyone got any ideas how to combat this ?

Rune of Power should be higher priority than Shifting Power. If cast first, the cooldown reduction allows for two runes before the next combustion.

I understand that the first instant Pyroblast is generated by the Hot Streak that comes from the initial Fireball hitting when Combustion is active, and right after the first Fireblast. But then, I see a second Fireblast before the second Pyroblast. How come? Wouldn't that spoil one Hot Streak? Why not casting the second Fireblast right before the first instant-Piroblast lands instead of before casting the Pyroblast? What am I missing here?

If I'm not mistaken, there's something absolutely crucial missing from this guide.
Outside of combustion, when Heating Up is generated, you still cast another fireball. You (almost) never do anything else. On each fireball, IF the previous was a crit, then you Fireblast in the middle of your fireball cast and then instant-cast Pyroblast immediately at the end of your Fireball cast. They will hit at roughly the same time, and due to the way that Heating Up is coded, if EITHER of them Crits, you will end up with Heating Up --- even if the one that hit first crit and the second one didn't.
If I was a new mage reading this I would read your rotation guide as 'if you proc Heating Up, immediately cast Fireblast and then Pyroblast.', which is wrong.
