Montreal, Canada’s on Thursday announced that it’s shipping two new games to the North American Mac market: Creatures: Exodus and Creatures: Village. This is the first time that Kutoka, best known for its educational titles like the Mia series and Didi and Ditto, have shipped games, although these games help reinforce lessons in biology, genetics and more.

The Creatures series are artificial life games featuring “Norns.” They model real biological systems, complete with unique biochemistry, brains and “Digital DNA.” Each one is unique. Norns can be sent to school to learn how to communicate with you, and they need to be fed, taken care of and taught right from wrong. When they become adults Norns can breed, passing along their genetic material to a new generation. Creatures: Exodus is an open-ended game set on a spaceship called the Ark. This marks the game’s debut on the Mac platform — it was previously available for Windows, and was developed by a game maker based in the UK called Gameware.

Featuring six large environments, each area on the Ark has its own ecology, food chain and dangers, according to Kutoka — you can construct machines to help you protect and defend your Norns from other creatures that would do them harm, like Ettins and Grendels. If that isn’t enough, another spaceship called Capillata features more environments, new devices to use and more. The “Docking Station” lets you interact online with other Creatures: Exodus players, allowing your Norns to interact with each other while you chat. Creatures: Exodus is a hybrid CD-ROM that works on Windows and Mac, it costs US$19.99. Kutoka expects to begin shipping the title on October 1, 2005, and recommends it for players ages eight and up.

Mac Os Versions

System requirements include Mac OS X v10.2 or later and a G3/900MHz or faster or G4/700MHz or faster. Creatures: Village Kutoka will also be shipping Creatures: Village, a second Gameware-developed Creatures game in which you interact with and breed Norns. Creatures: Village features fifteen play areas with myriad activities to participate in, ranging from parachuting to flying in an airship to baking a cake and more. Like Creatures: Exodus, the game introduces principles of biology, genetics and ecosystems. As with Creatures: Exodus, Creatures: Village ships on October 1, 2005 for $19.99, and comes in hybrid CD-ROM format.

Spore Creature Creator For Mac

We still don't know much about Spore, the new concept game being developed by Electronic Arts. What we do know is that it will be an online, multiplayer game with a never before seen theme. In Spore, users will create their own species from scratch, starting from the microscopic stage and evolving them through subsequent phases (up to five, according to Electronic Arts). Spore Creature Creator is just a trial version of the creature creator in the full Spore game, so it won't include all of the resources you'll eventually have available. Creating a new being is as easy as adding different body parts from a lateral menu.

One thing to keep in mind is that you have a limited amount of credit to spend. Mouths, ears, horns, eyes, arms, legs, scales, claws.

Everything has a price. It's also possible to give your creature some color. You can use predefined styles if you don't want things to get too complicated. Once you've finished constructing your specimen, you can give it a name and test out its movement to see if it will succeed on the ground, and how it responds with various emotions. The creatures that you create will remain stored in the Spore Pedia. Don't miss a peek at the examples that the game has provided you.

Origin is a digital shopping and downloading platform from Electronic Arts. Basically, it's a sort of Steam that you need to install and use if you want to play any of this North American company's most important releases.
To enjoy all the latest games from EA, you'll need to access this platform, through which you can comfortably buy games and download them as many times as you need to. You can also maintain a list of friends and talk to them whenever you want - even gift them games.
A great thing about Origin is that it allows you to keep everything on the Internet, so you don't have to worry if something happens to your computer. You can always go back and re-download your purchase, even starting a saved game right where you left off, since those files are stored in the cloud.
On top of everything, the platform comes with some free games so that you can start enjoying the system without even having to take out your wallet. Battlefield Heroes, Need for Speed World, and Battleforge are just some of the titles that you can play.
At the moment, Origin is not as essential as Steam. But if EA continues to make its big new releases exclusive to the platform, there's no doubt that you'll need to have it installed on your hard drive.
